Dayna is beginning her fourth week in the US Coast Guard Boot Camp in Cape May, New Jersey! All the way from Florida, no family members in the military in many, many years, she is setting off on an exciting journey.
Why the Coast Guard? She loves to deep sea fish with her aunt, she loves the water (fresh & salt), she's active, her father was a Merchant Marine and she wants to serve her country. Then there are the perks: salary & bonus pay, insurance (health & dental), travel opportunities and more!
We're proud of Dayna - I speak for everyone in my family. We waited a long 2 weeks before hearing from her in the form of a letter and now we've gotten our second letter and she's doing good with a very positive outlook on what continues to be a new, sometimes scary, proposition.
